Spicy Baked Pita Chips
This recipe can use any one of the following Something Special products:
Gourmet Red Chili •
Red Chili Pepper Spread •
Gourmet Jalapeno •
Gourmet Pomegranate
Pita, tortillas or flat bread is brushed with a mixture of Something Special Red Chili or Jalapeno Dip and olive oil, sprinkled with oregano, cut into wedges and baked in the oven until crispy. Served with a white bean dip, full of flavor, high on healthy, low on fat. No one will know…
1/4 cup your favourite
Something Special Dip or Spread2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
3 pitas, soft tortillas or flatbread (8-inch, 20 cm)
1 tablespoon dried oregano or Italian seasoning
2 tablespoons grated Parmesan, optional
Preheat oven to 400ºF (200ºC).
Mix together Something Special Red Chili (or Jalapeno) Dip and olive oil in a small bowl. Brush chili-oil mixture on pitas. Sprinkle with oregano and grated cheese, if desired.
Slice each pita into 8 wedges and place on parchment-lined cookie sheet.
Bake until wedges are lightly browned and crisp, about 7-10 minutes. Remove to cool on wire rack.
Serve warm or room temperature with your favorite dip. Keeps fresh in an air-tight container up to 3 days. Makes 24 chips.
